Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2, 2026
These Terms of Service describe what you can expect from Board & Quill and what we expect from you when you use our website or subscribe to our curriculum. By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
We have written these terms in plain language wherever the law lets us. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected].
About Board & Quill
These terms govern your use of boardandquill.com and all related subscription services offered by Board & Quill Inc., an Alberta provincial corporation ("Board & Quill," "we," "us," or "our").
Board & Quill is a gameschooling curriculum subscription platform. We provide structured lesson plans built around board games, designed for homeschooling families.
Our services
Board & Quill offers two subscription tiers, plus standalone Mini-Pack purchases:
- Base ($15 CAD/month or $150 CAD/year): The current month's content for one age tier of your choice.
- Premium ($29 CAD/month or $290 CAD/year): All three age tiers every month, a personal archive that grows the longer you stay, Learning Records for each game, a monthly letter from Sean & Amanda, and voting rights in The Quarter Quill. Every lesson you receive is yours to keep, even if you cancel later.
- Mini-Packs ($17 CAD each): One-time curriculum packs built around a single game. All three age tiers included. Sold separately, not part of any subscription.
Annual subscriptions are billed once per year and provide two months free compared to monthly billing. All pricing is in Canadian dollars (CAD). We may adjust pricing in the future. If we do, the new pricing will only apply to new subscriptions or to your renewal at the start of the next billing period.
For commercial or group educational use (small co-ops, learning pods, tutoring practices, paid homeschool groups, or small private schools), please email us at [email protected] so we can discuss arrangements.
User accounts
To subscribe, you create an account through our payment platform, Stripe. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information when you sign up. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
You can update or close your account at any time. To close your account, log into your Stripe customer portal or email us at [email protected].
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Board & Quill is designed for parents and guardians; we are not a service for children to use directly.
Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis, monthly or annually, based on the plan you choose. By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. All payments are handled by Stripe. Board & Quill does not store your payment card details.
Digital curriculum content is delivered automatically once payment is confirmed. Because our products are digital and delivered immediately on purchase, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds except where required by applicable law. This applies to monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, and Mini-Packs.
Lesson content is delivered to subscribers each month. Every lesson you receive is yours to keep, whether or not you remain subscribed. A subscriber portal at shelf.boardandquill.com gives Premium subscribers access to their growing personal archive, and gives Base subscribers and Mini-Pack buyers access to the content they have purchased.
Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time by managing your subscription in your Stripe customer portal, or by emailing us at [email protected].
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will keep access to your subscription content until your billing period ends. We do not offer partial refunds for the unused portion of a billing period.
About your archive after cancellation: Premium subscribers, your personal archive is part of your active subscription. If you cancel, you lose access to the archive at the end of your billing period. The PDF lessons you have already downloaded are yours to keep on your own device.
